WHEREAS, the gasoline shortage and price raise has created problems
for the taxicab companies and
~REAS, the taxicab operators have petitioned the Common Council of
the City of Jeffersonville for authority to add a surcharge to the regular
fare for the purpose of assisting in paying the additional operating cost
and
I~HEREAS, the Cormnon Council of the City of Jeffersonville has concluded
that such a surcharge is equitable and should be allowed
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that for a period of ninety (90) days begin-
ing on December 3, 1979, licensed operators of taxicabs in the City of Jeffer-
sonville may add a surcharge to the amount shown on the cab meter for each
service run in the amount of 253 cents.
Adopted by the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana,
this 3rd day of December, 1979.
