WHEREAS, the gasoline shortage and price raise has created
problems for the taxicab companies and
WHEREAS, the taxicab operators have petitioned the Common
Council of the City of Jeffersonville for authority to add a
surcharge to the regular fare for the purpose of assisting in paying the
additional operating cost and
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville has
concluded that such a surcharge is equitable and should be allowed
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that for a period of ninety (90)
days beginning on August 14 , 1979, licensed operators of
taxicabs in the City of Jeffersonville may add a surcharge to the
amoun.,t shown on the ~ab meter for each service run in the amoun~ of
15¢ cents.
Adopted by the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville,
Indiana, this 6~th day of August, 1979.
