HomeMy WebLinkAbout8-09-01Minutes of the Jeffersonville City Council Budget Meeting Thursday, August 9, 2001 The Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville met in budget session August 9, 2001 at 6:00 P.M. The meeting was held in the City County Building, Room 318. Council President Les Merkley called the meeting to order with Deputy Clerk Treasurers Suzy Bass and Barbara Hollis at the desk. Roll call was taken and the following Councilpersons were present: Les Merkley, Rob Waiz, and Barbara Wilson. Absent: Councilpersons Denny Frantz, Ron Groom, Vicki Conlirg and Ron Ellis. The Board of Public Works budget was discussed with the following changes agreed upon://363 Traffic Signals - $30,000,//295 Historic -$2,500,//325 Maintenance Service - $400, and #346 Water - $4,500. Street Commission Marvin Grant appeared before the Council to discuss and explain the budgets for Motor Vehicle and Sanitation. The following changes were agreed upon in the Motor Vehicle budget: #358 Hospitalization - $111,000, #232 Fuel - $44,000, and to change back #118 Equipment Operator. Council President Merkley is going to check on the INAAP rent. Councilperson Denny Frantz arrived at the meeting. It was agreed to change #232 Fuel to $50,000 in the Sanitation budget. The landfill cost was discussed and was agreed it should stay the same. Park Superintendent Rick Elliott appeared before the Council to discuss and explain the Park budget. Superintendent Elliot gave an update on the Aquatic Center, explaining the expected costs. The mowing areas were explained. No changes Were made. The appropriation in the current budget for the bend payment was discussed. There being no further business to come before the Council, the meeting was adjourned.
