An Ordinance Vacating Certain Parts of
14th Street and Missouri Avenue in the
City of Jeffersonvi!!e.
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Commission of the City of Jeffersvoni!le,
has shown by its petition that it is the owner of.all property bordering
on and adjacent to the following described portions of 14th Street
and Missouri Avenue situated in the City of Jeffersonville, Clark
County, Indiana, to-wit:
Being a part of Missouri Avenue and a part of 14th Street in
the City of J~ffersonville, Clark County, Indiana and being further
described as follows:
Beginning at the.Northeast corner of Block #146.in said City;
'Thence S.85°35'45"E., along the South line of tttb Street ex~
tended 23.29 feet to the'Western line of Spring Street;
Thence S.17"4?'02"E.,'along said Western line 96.68 feet to the
North corner' of..Block.~t4?;
Thence S.4°32'13"W., 283.78 feet to the Southwest corner of Block
#147;.
Thence S.85°35'&5"E., along the South line of said Block #147,
79.31 feet to a point;
Thence 97.71 Feet along the arc of a curve to the r±ght and being
subtende~ by a chord having a bearing 6f S.62°~5'45"W., and a distance
of 82.89 feet to a point;
Thence N.61044'48"W., 68.02 feet to $ point:
Thence N.69°42'~5"W., 60.64 feet to e point in the South line of
Block #146;
Thence S.85"35'45"E., 51.41 feet to the Southeast corner of said.
Block #146;
Thence N.4°32'13"~., 373.30 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING.
'Containing 25,961 square feet, more or less, and being subJec~ to all
existing utilities.
and
WHEREAS it is in the process of redevelopzng its said property
which completely surrounds the aforesaid described portions of 14th
Street and Missouri Avenue zn pursuit of and in accord with a
certain plan heretofore duly approved on the 6th day of March, 1972,
by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville; such
said plan being the Urban Renewal Plan, dated December, 1971; and
more commonly called the "Claysburg West" project and,
WHEREAS, to facilitate and make possible this heretofore approved
redevelopment project, it is necessary to vacate all those portions
of 14th Street and Missouri Avenue contained and/or encompassed within
this aforesaid described real estate and,
WHEREAS, the Jeffersonville City Plan Commission, at its
regular meeting held on the 31st day of August, 1982, passed a
resolution recommending the granting of petitioner's request %o vacate
all those portions of 14th Street and Missouri Avenue contained and/or
encompassed within this aforesaid described real estate and,
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Common Council have determined that it
is in the best interests of the City to vacate those said portions of
14th Street and Missouri Avenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that within the City of
Jeffersonville, County of Clark, State of Indiana, those portions
of 14th Street and Missouri Avenue contained and/or encompassed
within the hereinabove described real estate is hereby vacated.
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage and approval.
