HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-30-2003COUNCIL PROCEEDiNGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA December 30, 2003 The Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana met in special session in the Mayor's Conference Room in the City-County Building, Jeffersonville, Indiana, at 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 30, 2003. Council President Rob Waiz, with Clerk Treasure? Peggy Wilder at the desk, called the meeting to order. Also present was Depputy Clerk Barbara Hollis. The roll was called and those present were; Councilpersons Ron Ellis, Les Merkley, Denny Frantz, Rob Waiz, Barbara Wilson, Ron Grooms, and Vicki Conlin. Absent: None Clerk Treasurer Wilder announced the agenda includes Ordinance No. 2003-OR- 40 which the Mayor has vetoed, Ordinance No. 2003-OR-51, an Ordinance extending the time for tax anticipation warrants, and one claim. Councilperson Conlin made the motion to approve the agenda as presented, second by Councilperson Ellis, passing on a vote of 6-0. Council President Waiz did not vote. Clerk Treasurer Wilder presented the minutes of the meeting of December 19, 2003 for approval. Councilperson Wilson made the motion to approve the minutes, second by Councilperson Grooms, passing on a vote of 7-0. Council President Waiz did not vote. Clerk Treasurer Wilder presented Ordinance 2003-OR-40 for consideration for an oven/de of Mayor Galligan's veto. Councilperson Conlin made the motion to oven/de the Mayor's veto of Ordinance No. 2003-OR-40, second by Councilperson Wilson, passing on the following roll call vote: Ayes: Councilpersons Conlin, Wilson, Frantz, Merkley, Grooms, and Ellis. Nays: None. Council President Waiz did not vote. Clerk Treasurer Wilder presented and explained Ordinance No. 2003-OR-51, An Ordinance Extending The Maturity Of The 2003 Tax Anticipation Warrants For The City December 30, 2003 2 Of Jeffersonville. Councilperson Ellis made the motion to suspend the roles for Ordinance No. 2003-OR-51, second by Councilperson Conlin, passing on a vote of 6-0. Council President Waiz did not vote. Councilperson Ellis then made the motion to pass Ordinance No. 2003-OR-51 on all three readings, second by Councilperson Grooms, passing on a vote of 6-0. Council President Waiz did not vote. Clerk Treasurer Wilder presented a claim to MBNA America in the amount of $871.90 for Council travel. Councilperson Conlin made the motion to approve the claim as presented, second by Councilperson Grooms, passing on a vote of 6-0. Council President Waiz did not vote.
