An Ordinance Authorizing the Conveyance
by the City of its Interest in a Previously
Vacated Portion of Twelfth Street to the
Redevelopment Commission of the City of
Jeffersonville.
WHEREAS, the City has vacated that hereinafter described
portion of Twelfth Street by ORDINANCE NO. 83-0R-34 (dated September
12, 1983) and,
WHEREAS, as a result of this said street vagation the City
did become the owner of the southerly most half of the hereinafter
described portion of Twelfth Street, and,
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Commission of the City is in the
process of redeveloping the areas adjacent to thisheretofore vacated
area of Twelfth Street for the purpose of improving the community
at large, and,
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Commission in furtherance of its
said aim of community improvement has requested that the City convey
to it the interest held by the City in the heretofore vacated and
hereinafter described portion of Twelfth Street, and the City
Council having considered such request does now conclude that it
is in the best interests of the City to make such a conveyance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL that it
hereby authorizes the execution and delivery of a deed by the
Mayor and Clerk-Treasurer of the City to the City of Jeffersonville,
for the Use and Benefit of its Department of Redevelopment, for
the following described real estate in Clark County, State of
Indiana, to-wit:
Being a part of Twelfth Street in the City of Jeffersonvil~e,
Clark County, Indiana and being further described as follows:
Beginning at a "PK" nail on the Northeast corner of
Twelfth and Spring Streets, same being the Southwest
corner of Block ~133 in said City; Thence N. 58° 48'
32" E., along the Northern line of ~elfth Street
329.49 feet to a point; Thence S. 18° 27' 14" E., 3.97
feet to an iron pipe; Thence 68.71 feet along the arc of
a curVe to the right, having a radius of 50 feet and
being subtended by a ~ng chord having a bearing of 20~
54' 44" W., and a distance of 63.43 feet to an iron pipe;
Thence S. 60° 16' 43" W., 250.64 feet to a point; Thence
52.60 feet along the arc of a curve to the right, having
a radius of 29.56 feet and being subtended by a long
chord having a bearing of N. 68° 45' 10" W., and a distance
of 45.93 feet to THE PLACE OF BEGINNING.
Containing 12,449 feet (0.286 acre), more or less.
The above described tract being subject to the right of the
City of Jeffersonville to enter upon said Street to maintain,
construct or reconstruct a sewer line under the surface of said
tract.
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage and approval.
