An Ordinance Authorizing the Conveyance of
Land to the Historic Landmarks Foundation
of Indiana.
WHEREAS, the Historic Landhnarks Foundation of Indiana has pur-
chased the Grisamore Home in the 100 block of East Chestnut Street,
this being the city's oldest house, and,
WHEREAS, the City has a public parking lot on the west side
of such house, and
WHEREAS, s~h Foundation has requested that the City convey to
it a part of such tract and the City Council having considered such
request and concluded that it is in the best interest of the City,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL that
it hereby authorizes the execution of a deed by the Mayor and Clerk-
Treasurer of the City to the Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana
for the following described real estate in Clark County, State of
Indiana, to-wit:
Being all of Lots 115 and 116 and part of Lot 117 in the
City of Jeffersonville, Clark County, Indiana, described
as follows: Beginning on the Northerly line of Lot 117,
3.00 feet Easterly of the Northwest corner of said Lot
117 (being also 139.50 feet Westerly from the Western
right-of-way line of Spring Street); thence Southerly
along a line parallel with and 3.00 feet Easterly of the
Western line of said Lot 117, 142.00 feet to the Southern
line of said Lot 117 (being also the Northern right~of-way
line of Court Street); thence Westerly along said Northern
right-of-way 145.50 feet to the Western line of Lot 115;
thence Northerly along said Western line of Lot 115; 142.00
feet to the Northwesterly corner of Lot 115; thence Easterly
along the Northern line of said Lots 115, 116 and 117,
145.50 feet to the point of beginning and containing 20,661
square feet, more or less.
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage and approval.

THIS INDENTURE WITNESSETH: That the City of Jeffersonville,
pursuant to authority of Ordinance No. ~ -~.~ /~ ,
for and in consideration of the sum of One Dollar and other good
and valuable considerations, the receipt of which is hereby
acknowledged, CONVEYS unto the Historic Landmarks Foundation of
Indiana, the following described real estate in Clark County,
State of Indiana, to-wit:
Being all of Lots 115 and 116 and part of Lot 117
in the City of Jeffersonville, Clark County, Indiana,
described as follows: Beginning on the Northerly
line of Lot 117, 3.00 feet Easterly of the Northwest
corner of said Lot 117 (being also 139.50 feet
Westerly from the Western right-of-way line of Spring
Street); thence Southerly along a line parallel with
and 3.00 feet Easterly of the Western line of said Lot

and containing 20,661 square feet, more or less.
This conveyance is made subject to the right of the public to'
use this property for parking.
