AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION OF THE
JEFFERSONVILLE HISTORIC DISTRICT AND DESIGNATING THE
HISTORIC BUILDINGS LOCATED IN THE HISTORIC DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of jeffersonville
passed an ordinance (No. 84-OR-34) creating a Historic District
Board of RevieW, which ordinance waS duly signed on July 21, 1984,
by Mayor Dale L. Orem, and was published as required be law;
and wHEREAS, a Historic District Board of Review was
named by the Mayor and approved by the Common council pursuant
to said ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the Historic District Board of Review has
submitted to the Common Council a recommendation as to the
boundaries of the Historic District and has recommended certain
buildings to be designated as Historic Buildings-
the common council

NOW, THEREFOR , BE IT ORDAINED, by
of the City of jeffersonville, that a portion of the Cil~y of
jeffersonvil!e described as follows:
The area lying within the "outer boundary line" as desig-
nated on the map attached heretO and made a part hereof.
by reference; including the property along Riverside Dr%ve
from the Western boundary Gf the jeffboat property to
the Eastern right-of-way of 1-65, the property on Spring
Street from Riverside Drive to Court Avenue and the area
commencing at the intersection of Court Avenue and Kentucky
Avenue; thence Northeast along the centerline of Kentucky
to Spring Street; thence South along the centerline of
Spring Street to Federal Place; thence East along the
centerline of Federal Place to Wall Street; thence South
along the centerline of Wall Street to Court Avenue; thence
West along the centerline of Court Avenue to the inter-
section of Court Avenue and Kentucky, to the true place
of beginning; all of which is located within the City
of jeffersonville, County of Clark, State of Indiana,
be designated as the Historic District of Jeffersonville.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that the structures designated
as contributing structures on the Old Jeffersonville National
Register District map are designated as Historic Buildings
and the restrictions set forth concerning Historic Buildings,
.and the buildings adjacent to them, which are within the Historic
~District, shall apply to each structure designated as a Historic
Building.
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage, approval and publication pursuant
to law.
