AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 80-OR-6.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JEFFERSONVILLE, CLARK COUNTY, INEIANA:
Section One
The pr6visions of Ordinance No. S0-OR-6 are amended as
follows:

Section Three of 80-OR-6 shall be amended as follows:

Stopping, Standing or Parking Prohibited.
No Signs Required.
No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle except where
necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance
with law, or the directions of a Po]ice Officer or Traffic
Control device in any o~ the following places:
1. On a sidewalk.
2. In front of a public or private driveway.
3. Within an intersection.
4. Within fifteen (15) feet of a fire hydranT.
5. On a Cross Walk.
6. within twenty (20) feet of a Cross Walk.
7. within thirty (30) feet upon the approach to any
flashing beacon, stop sign or traffic control signal
located at the side of the roadway.
8. Within fifty (50) feet of the nearest rail of a Railroad
.Crossing.
9. Within twenty 120) feet to the driveway to any Emergency
Vehicle Garage or Parking Space, and on the opposite
side of the street of said driveway or space for
the same entrance.
10. Alongside or opposite any street excavation or obstruction
when stopping, standing or parking would obstruct
traffic.
11. On the roadway side of any vehicle stopped or parked
at the edge of curb or a srreet. (Double Parking)
12. Upon any bridge or other elevated structure upon
a highway or within a highway tunnel.
13. At any place or location where official signs prohibit
stopping or parking.
14. In parking areas designated for handicapped persons
unless the operator or a passenger is handicapped.
15. In those areas marked and designated as fire lanes.
16. In any area designated as No Parking by a yellow
curb marking.
17. Along any curb in a direction opposed to the prope~
and main flow of traffic on any street or alley.

Any person receiving a

No. S0-OR-6 shall pay an assessment of Fifteen Dollars ($15.00)
(except as hereinafter provided) if paid within seventy-two
(72) hours of the time of such violation to %he Clerk-Treasurer
of the City of jeffersonville or the officer in charge at the
jeffersonville Po]ice Headquarters at the City-County Building,
519 East Court Avenue, jeffersonville, Indiana. In the event
that any person charged with a violation hereunder fails to
pay as above provided, such person shall be charged in City
Court and upon conviction shall be fined not less than Fifteen
Dollars ($15.00) nor more than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00).

Section Four
This Ordinance shall become effective upon its passage,
approval and publication as required by statute.

to redemption of the vehicle. The owner of the vehicle
in whose name the vehicle is registered shall
facie responsible for violations of this Ordinance
80-OR-6, and as a result thereof shall pay any
the redemption
