A Resolution Decfaring an Area to be an
Economic Revitalization Area.
WHEREAS, of
is authorized pursuant to the provisions of
to create an "Economic Revitalization Area"
of Jeffersonville; and

WHEREAS, a plat map of the area commonly known as the
Jeffersonville Research and Industrial Park, lying within the
City of Jeffersonville has been presented to the Common Council
of the City of Jeffersonville; and
WHEREAS, said area was previously declared an "Economic
Revitalization Area"; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville
passed a Resolution 84-R-10 on April 23, 1984, declaring the
Jeffersonville Research and Industrial Park to be an "Economic
Revitalization Area"; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the passage of 84-R-10, a Public
Hearing was held by the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonvl]le
as required by law on May 7, 1984; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council has given careful consideration
to all evidence, testimony and
said hearing; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council
remonstrances received during
of the City of Jeffersonvil]e
must take final action to confirm, modify or rescind Resdlution
84-R-10.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FOUND AND RESEOLVED, that the area
described herein has become undesirable for, or impossible
of, normal development and occupancy because of a lack of
development, cessation of growth, deterioration of improvements
or character of occupancy, age, obsolescence, sub-standard
buildings or other factors which have impaired values and prevent
a normal development of property or use of property, including
but not limited to economic, technological or energy related
obsolescences which may lead to a decline in emp]oymen~ and
tax revenue; and
That said area is hereby declared an "Economic Revitalization
Area"; and
That said declaration shall apply only to property within
said area which is or shall hereafter become zoned for and
used for industrial uses and is not to include agricultura],
residential and retail uses within said area; and
That said declaration is to remain in effect for ten (10)
years or until terminated by this Board, provided, however,
said declaration is to continue in effect with
property which has qualified for tax abatement
period of the maximum period allowed for said
That a
