OREM ANNEXATION PLAN Introduction The City of jeffersonville was petitioned Pryor and Frances B. Pryor on January 30, 1984, ~'?ce~ain portion of property which is located at Lane, jeffersonville, Indiana, 47130, and which by Char]es E. to rezone a 2304 Allison is more specifi- cally described in the Petition For Annexation attached hereto as Exhibit "A". The area to be annexed is considered urban and is contiguous to the City limits. It is an appropriate locamion for adjacent urban growth, which allows efficient provision of urban services. The proposed annexation area meets for the orderly and the necessary criteria for annexation in all the methods stipulated by Indiana law. A written fiscal plan has been developed providing for municipal and proprietary services to the area. The foll6wing report describes the area, sets forth a municipal services plan, summarizes the financial impact of the annexation upon the City and recommends a course of action. Basic Data Location The proposed annexation area is located to the Northeast of the City of jeffersonville and jeffersonville Township; North of Allison Lane. Size Approximately one (1) acre. Population Density Sufficient Buildings Type to meet the statutory requirements. Land Use Type - Commercial acres one (1) Percentage - 100% planning This area is totally developed and can be served by the jeffersonville Sewage System, and water is being supplied by the Indiana Cities Water Corporation- The annexed area can be better protected with Police prctec- tion, Fire protection, traffic control and/or street lighting by annexation. The following are reasons why the City wishes to annex the proposed area: a. The annexation would promote the growth of the City. Growth is important because it allows for the minimi- zation of utility and facility costs, coordinating e~ficient provisions for housing community facilities, and for utilization of the land while protecting its natural resources. The annexation would also create a more uniform and compact City boundary. b. Urbanization is expected to occur in this area, making this area a vita] length to future growth and development. c. The annexed area is already very much a part of the community of jeffersonville. Municipal service~ Police and Fire protection can be adequately provided without the addition of any additional Police or Fire equipment. The jeffersonville Sanitation Department can provide immediate solid waste collection servicing the annexed area. The City of jeffersonville can assume responsibility for traffic control immediately. Street Lighting - It is anticipated that the City of jeffersonville will provide street lighting if it is necessary in the area. utilities The Indiana Cities Water Corporation is currently serving the proposed annexation area. This is the same scurce used by similar areas of the City. The area can be served with sewers by the jeffersonville Sewage Department in the reasonably near future and the Petition For Annexation waives the right to file complaint against the City for failure to provide this service in the event tha~ it cannot be provided. Financial Summary AS a result of the fact that there will be additional services required by the municipality, all tax revenues will become an addition to the City's income and will therefore be an immediate asset to the City. Summary and Recommendation The area meetS the criteria for the annexation of the City and the City has been petitioned to annex the area. Therefore, it is the recommendation of this report that the area should be annexed.
