A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE REPAIR OF
SIDEWALKS WITHIN THE CITY
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of jeffersonville
believes that it is in the best interest of the City to have adequate
sidewalks;
WHEREAS, it is the duty of the property owners to maintain
or replace sidewalks existing on their property;
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to assist
the citizens of the City in every matter where it is legally
permissible or economically feasible;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City sha!l make
its equipment and manpower available to the property owners for the
removal of existing sidewalks, provided the following conditions
are met.
1.
Indiana,
The City is paid, in advance, $10.00 for the first lineal
100 feet of sidewalk or portion thereof and $!.00 for each
additional ten lineal feet, or portion thereof.
The City crews are available.
The owner or owners of the property agree within ten (10)
days of the completion of the sidewalk removal to begin
construction of a new sidewalk.
The owner or owners agree to complete construction of the
sidewalk within twenty (20) days of the completion of the
removal of the sidewalks in a manner consistent with the
jeffersonville City Code and Building Code.
Adopted by the Common Council of the City of jeffersonville,
this 1 day of July , 1985.
