ALrfHORIZING THE FILING OF A REQUEST ~OR GRANT ~)DIFICATION IIqDER THE
SMALL CITIES OC~mlqlTY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM - COFMUNITY IM-
PROVEMENT PROGRAM (CIP) - AS ~ISThlt~q) BY THE STATE OF ]lqDIANA, DE-
PARI~qT OF COM~,CE
WHEREAS, under Title I of the Housing and Ccnrmmity Development Act
of 1974, as anended, the Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban
Development has authorized the State of Indiana, Departmant of C~l~erce,
to extend financial assistance to cities, towns, and smaller urban c~n-
monities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment and
expanding economic opportunities, principally for persons of low and moder-
ate income; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Jeffersonville Department of Redevelopment, the
agency responsible for developing and administering the City of Jefferson-
ville's CuL~onity Development Block Grant Progr~n, is preparing a modified
application under the State's C~l~nity'Improv~ment Program for C~L~or~ity
Development Block Grant funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CObiV~N COLIqCIL FOR THE CITY OF
~'~'~SO~VT~g, nVOZA~A:
1. That the ,City of Jeffersonville Department of Redevelopment is
authorized to file a request for modification of C~m~nity Im-
provament Progr~n Grant No. C-82-036 and No. C-84-013 with the
State of Indiana, Depar~nent of Ccr~nerce, including all under-
standings and assurances, if any, to be contained within said
application for grant modification.
2. Thet Mayor Dale L. Orem, as the Chief Executive Officer, is
designated as the authorized representative of the applicant
to act in connection with the application for grant modification
end to provide any additional information that may be required.
3. That the C~mn Council for the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana
agrees to abide by any assurances as required under the State's
Progrmn.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk-Treasurer of ssid City of Jeffer-
sonville, Indiana, is hereby ordered and directed to give notice as provided
by la~.
Adopted by the Common Council of the City of jeffersonville, Indiana,
this 1st day of July _, 1985.
