RESOLUTION OF THE CoMMO~ COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA,
AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF A REQUEST FOR GRANT MODIFICATION UNDER THE
SMALL CITIES COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM - COMMUNITY
IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (CIP) - AS ADMINISTERED BY THE STATE OF INDIANA,
DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE ~
WHEREAS, under Title I of the Housing and Community Development
Act of 1974, as amended, the Secretary of the Department of Housing and
Urban Development has authorized the State of Indiana, Department of
Commerce, to extend financial assistance to cities, towns, and smaller
urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living
environment and expanding economic opportunities, principally for persons
of low and moderate income; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Jeffersonville Department of Redevelopment,
the agency responsible for developing and administering the City of
Jeffersonville's Community Development Block Grant Program, is preparing
a modified application under the State's Cbmmunity Improvement Program
for Community Development Block Grant funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL FOR THE CITY
OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA:
1. That the City of Jeffersonville Department of Redevelopment is
authorized to file a request for modification of Community
Improvement Program Grant No. C-84-013 with the State of Indiana,
Department of Commerce, including all understandings and assur-
ances, if any, to be contained within said application for
grant modification.
2. That Mayor Dale L. Orem, as the Chief Executive Officer, is
designated as the authorized representative of the applicant
to act in connection with the application for grant modification
and to provide any additioqal information that may be required.
3. That the Common Council for the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana
agrees to abide by any assurances as required under the State's
Program.

BE IT FURTHER RE~gLVED that the Clerk-Treasurer of said City of
jeffersonville, Indiana, is hereby ordered and directed to give notice
as provided by law.

Due to the amount of funds needed to be transferred from the disposition
category ($2,570) into the clearance category, this modification reouest is

GRANT MODIFICATION SCHEDULE
The proposed minor modification is needed because of a higher
than anticipated cost of clearance (an additional $2,380 is
nee'ded) and of a slightly higher relocation cost ($190). The
requested modification proposes to shift these needed funds
from disposition activities° Decisions to lease rather than
sell acquired land lessened the amount of funds needed for dis-
position. The proposed modification involves no new activity
and the budget lines affected ~re related activities as part of
the total revitalization plan for the project area.
