CATION UNDER THE S~qALL CITIES COM~iUNIT¥ DEVELOPmeNT BLOCK GRANT
PROGRAM - CO~qUNITY IMPROVEIqENT PROGRA~q (CIP) - AS ADIqlNISTERED
BY THE STATE OF INDIANA~ DEP/~RT~4ENT OF CO~¢,MERCE
WHEREAS~ under Title I of %he Housing and Ccmmunity Development
Act of !g74~ as amended~ the Secretary of the Department of Housing and
Urban Development has authorized %he State of Indiana, Department of
Commerce, to extend financial assistance to cities~ towns, and smaller
urban communities by providing decent housing and suitable living
envir¢~ment and expanding economic opportunities, principally for persons
of low and moaerate in¢ome~ and,
~HEREAS~ the City of Jeffersoaville Department of Redevelopment, the
agency'responsible for developing and administering the City of Jefferson-
ville's Community Development Block Grant Program, is preparing a modifi'ed
application under the State's Community Improvement Program for Come, unity
Development Block Grant funding.
NO~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL FOR THE CITY
OF JEFFERSO~VILLE~ INDIANA:
1. That the City of jeffersonville.Department of Redevelopment is
authorized to file a request for modification of Community
Improvement Program Grant ~o. C-84-013 with the State of Indiana,
Department of Commerce, including all understandings and assur-
ances, if any, to be contained within said application for grant
modi fi cati on.
2. That Mayor Dale Lo Orem, as the Chief E>(ec'utive Officer, is
designated as the authorized representative of the applicant
to act in connection with the application for grant modification
and to provide any additional information that may be required.
3. That the Common Council for the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana
agrees to abide by any assurances as' required under the State's
Program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk-Treasurer of said City of
jeffersonville~ Indiana~ is hereby ordered and directed to give notice
as provided by law.

GRANT MODIFICATION SCHEDULE
The proposed minor modification is needed because of a lower
than expected relocation~ clearance and environmental review
expense and the need for additional funds to acquire all prop-
erty scheduled for acquisition in the original application°
Large reduction in relocation was possible because the appli-
cant was able to purchase properties while they were vacant°
The proposed modification involves no new activity and the
budget lines affected are related activities as part of the
total revitalization plan for the project area°
