HomeMy WebLinkAbout1986-R-07RESOLUTION NO. 86-R-_~ BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of jeffersonville, Indiana, that said Common Council wishes to go on record as being opposed to any rate increases that may be granted to Indiana cities Water Corporation. Due to the fact that in June of 1985 they received a 9% increase, it would seem that a request for 13.16% more is excessive and unnecessary. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that those individual's subsisting on fixed incomes which are tied to the cost of living index, which is only 4% or less, should not be subjected to any increase which would in essence decrease their ability to maintain their current financial position. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that due to the current financial conditions of the City of jeffersonville and its residents, the Common Council will take all steps possible to oppose the proposed increase.
