RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE,
INDIANA, AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION UNDER THE
SMALL CITIES COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM, FY '87,
COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (CIP) - AS ADMINISTERED BY THE
STATE OF INDIANA, DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE
WHEREAS, under Title I of the Housing and Community Development
Act of 1974, as amended, the Secretary'of the Department of Housing and
Urban Development has authorized the State of Indiana, Department of Commerce,
to extend financial assistance to cities, towns, and smaller urban communities
by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment and expanding
economic opportunities, principally for persons of low and moderate income;
and,
WHEREAS, the City of Jeffersonville Department of Redevelopment,
the agency responsible for developing and administering the City of
jeffersonville's Community Development Block Grant Program, has prepared
an application under the State's Community Improvement Program for Small
Cities Community Development Block Grant funding; and,
WHEREAS, said application is requesting up to $400,000 in FY '87
Community Improvement Program funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL FOR TIlE CItY
OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA:
1. That the City of Jeffersonville Department of Redevelopment
is authorized to file an application for Community Development
Block Grant funding with the State of Indiana, Department of
Commerce, including all understandings and assurances, if any,
to be contained within said application.
2. That Mayor Dale L. Orem, as the Chief Executive Officer, is
designated as 'the authorized representative of the applicant
to act in connection with the application and to provide any
additional information that may be required.
3. That the Common Council for the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana
agrees to abide by any assurances as required under the State's
Program.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk-Treasurer of said City
of jeffersonville, Indiana, is hereby ordered and directed to give notice
as provided by law.
Adopted by the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville,
Indiana, this 8th day of September , 1987.
