BE IT PROCLAIMED by a unanimous Resolution of the Common
Council of the City of Jeffersonville, County of Clark, State of
Indiana, that the warmest and most sincere congratulations are in
order for the 1986-87 Jeffersonville High School Boys' Basketball
Team for their exciting and hard-earned Championship in the recent
IHSAA Sectional. The Red Devils' exciting style of play and
spirit of competiveness in forging victories over Clarksville and
Floyd Central reflect true credit and honor upon this community
which they so ably represent. In particular, the first year
Coach, Mark Bixler, is to be commended for rejuvenating the spirit
of the Team, the School and the Community, while at the same time
battling great personal adversity. Since arriving in our community,
Coach Bixler has at all times reflected the truest values embodied
in the word "Champion."
IT IS, THEREFORE, with great pride that by this act the
Common Council extends their congratulations to the Team, the
Staff and the Student Body of Jeffersonville High School and
offers its hardiest support in the upcoming Regional at Seymour.
Resolution, it is thus proclaimed--GO RED
