VACATION OF ALLEY
WHEREAS, Savannah M. Simms, a resident of the City of
jeffersonville, Indiana, has presented a verified petition to
vacate a portion of an alley to this body which is in proper
form; and,
WHEREAS, Common Council of the City of jeffersonville
deems this petition to be in the best interest of the petitioner
and other persons similarly situated within the City of
jeffersonville; and,
WHEREAS, the requested vacation of the alley will not
hinder the growth or the developmen~ of the City of jeffersonville.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of
the City of jeffersonville that the following portion of an alley
which is located contiguous to Lot ]6 in Block 100 in the City of
jeffersonville, more particularly described as follows:
Part of Block ]00 in the City of jeffersonvil]e, and
beginning at a point 1]0 feet westwardly from the west
line of Fulton Street and 274 feet, more or less, south-
wardly from the southern line of Tenth Street; thence
southwardly from the southern line of Tenth Street;
then southwardly and parallel with Fulton Street 40
feet to a ten fQot alley; thence at right angles westwardly
to the eastern line of Mechanic Street; thence northwardly
with Mechanic Street 40 feet; thence eastwardly to the
place of beginning,
is hereby declared vacated.
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon
its passage, promulgation and approval by the Mayor.
Passed and adopted by the Common Council of the city of
jeffersonville, Clark Country, Indiana, on the 21st day of November,
1987.

PETITION TO VACATE
Comes now Savannah M. Sims, and in support of her
request that the City Council of the City of Jeffersonville,
Indiana vacate that portion of an alley which is contiguous
to Lot 16 in Block 100 of the City of Jeffersonville states
as follows:
1. That she is the owner of the following described
real estate located in the City of jeffersonville, County of
Clark, Indiana:
Part of Block 100 in the City of Jeffersonville,
and beginning at a point 110 feet westwardly
from the west llne of Fulton Street and 274
feet, more or less, southwardly from the
southern llne of Tenth Street; thence soutbwardly
from the southern line of Tenth Street; thence
soutbwardly and parallel with Fulton Street
40 feet to a ten foot alley; thence at right
angles westwardly to the eastern line of
Mechanic Street; thence northwardly with Mechanic
Street 40 feet; thence eastwardly to the place
of beginning.
That the said alley is approximately ten (10) feet
wide and runs along the southern boundary of the above
described real estate, which is Lot 16 in Block 100 of the
City of Jeffersonville.
3. That the said alley has not been developed and used
as a through right-of-way. That the following are the names
and addresses of all the~owners of land that abut the portion
of the alley that Savannah M. Sims is petitioning the City of
Jeffersonv~lle

4. That the vacation of this alley would not hinder the
growth or orderly development of the City of Jeffersonville
or of the neigt~o~hood in which it is located or to which it
is contiguous.

5. That the vacation of this alley would not make
access to the ].ands of a~y person by means of public way
difficult or inconvenient.
6. That the vacation of
public's access to a church,
or place.
7. That the vacation of this alley would not hinder
use of a public way by the neighborhood in which it is
located or to which it is contiguous.
WHEREFORE, Savannah M. Sims hereby requests the City
Council of jeffersonville vacate that alley which is 100 in the City of
contiguous to Lot 16 in Block
