ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH CUMULATIVE CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT FUND
WITHIN TIIE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE
WHEREAS, .Public Law 44-1984 allows municipalities to establish a
municipal Cumulative Capital Development Fund; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jeffersonville 'finds that such a fund is
necessary and prudent for the financial well being of the municipality.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ' ORDAINED by the Common Council of the
City of Jeffersonville as follows:
SECTION 1
is hereby established a. Jeffersonville Cumulative Capital

Development Fund.
SECTION 2
That an ad valorem property tax levy will be imposed and the
revenues from that levy will be retained in the Jeffersonville cumulative
Capital Development Fund.
SECTION 3
That the maximum rate of levy under Section 2 will not exceed:
a. $.04 per $100 Assessed Valuation for 1988
b. $.08 per $100 Assessed Valuation for 1989
c. $.12 per $100 Assessed Valuation for 1990.
SECTION 4
in the Jeffersonville Cumulative Capital

SECTION 5.
Notwithstanding Section 4, funds accumul§ted in the Jeffersonville
Cumulative Capital Development Fund may be spent for purposes other that
the purposes stated in Section 4, if the purpose is to protect the public
health, welfare, or safety in an emergency situation which demands immediate
action. Money may be spent under authority Of this section only after the
Mayor and/or Common Council issues a declaration that the public health,
welfare, or safety is in immediate danger that requires the expenditure of
money in the fund.

PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JEFFERSONVILLE, Indiana
September 19, 1987
The Common Council of the City of Jeffe~sonville met in regular
session in the Mayor's Conference Room of the City-County Building on the
19th day of September 1987, at 9:30 A.M.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Dale Orem presiding and
Clerk and Treasurer C. Richard Spencer Jr. at the desk.
Mayor Orem asked all those present to stand and pledge allegiance
to the flag and welcomed all visitors in attendance.
The roll was called and those present were Councilmen Potter,
Perkins, Grooms, Weidner and Waiz.
Absent were Councilmen Allen and Shrewsberry.
Councilman Shrewsberry appeared shortly after the commencement
of the meeting.
After the taking of the roll. other business followed.
~ Mayor Orem then introduced Ordinance No. 87-OR-38, an Ordinance
to Establish Cumulative Capital Development Fund Within the City of
Jeffersonville, which had previously been passed on the first reading,
and addressed the Council in support of said Ordinance. After general
discussion Councilman Shrewsberry made a motion to .pass Ordinance No.
87-OR-38 on the second and third readings, seconded by Councilman
Perkins and the following roll call vote was recorded:
Ayes: Councilmen Shrewsberry, Potter, Weidner, Grooms, Waiz,
and Perkins.
Nays: None.
Other business followed:
There being no further business to come'before the Councill, Cotmcil-
man Perkins made a motion to adjourn at 11:45 o'clock A.M., seconded by
Councilman Potter and passed unanimously.
