AN ORDINANCE INCREASING TAXI-CAB
RATES AND AMENDING SECTION 115.23 OF THE
CODE O__F ORDINANCES FOR THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville,
is the sole regulatory agent for the regulation of taxi-cab
rates for said City of Jeffersonville and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of jeffersonville
has heretofore granted to Cab Service of Jeffersonville and
New Albany, Inc. a taxi-cab franchise and,

Inc. has not requested a rate increase for several years and,
WHEREAS, the City of Jeffersonville believes it is in the
best interest of the citizens of the City of jeffersonville
to provide clean, safe and reliable taxi-cab transportation.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL
of the City of Jeffersonville, State of Indiana, as follows:
SECTION I
Section 115.23 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Jeffersonvil!e, Indiana, is amended as follows:
(A) The rates to be charged by taxi-cabs for service to
passengers shall be as follows:
1. There shall be a charge of $2.25 for each meter pull~
2. There shall be a charge of $1.00 per mile with a
$3.00 minimum charge per trip.
3. Delivery for items of any particular business out--
side the corporate limits shall be'chargeable at a rate of
$2.00 for the items delivered,
with a $3.00 minimum and also
pull.

subject to the $2.25 meter
(B) In addition, the taxi-cab shall be entitled to
charge twenty cents for each minute of waiting time; pro-
vided, however, that such time shall not be charged unless
the passenger has requested the taxi-cab to wait for said
passenger.

(C) The Cab Service of Jeffersonville and New Albany,
Inc. shall offer a discount to all senior citizens for taxi-
cab services upon request to said senior citizens.
This ordinance shall become effective upon its passage
and approval as required by the laws of the State of Indiana.
