INDIANA, AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF A REQUEST FOR GRANT
MODIFICATION uNDER THE SMALL CITIES COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM - COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (CIP) -
AS ADMINISTERED BY THE STATE OF INDIANA, DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE
WHEREAS, unde~ Title I of the Housing and Community Development
Act of 1974, as amended, the Secretary of the Depqrtment of Housing and
Urban Development has authorized the State of Indiana, Department of
Commerce, to extend financial assistance to cities, towns, and smaller
urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living
environment and expanding economic opportunities, principally for persons
of low and moderate income; and,
WHEREAS, the City of jeffersonville Development of Redevelopment,
the agency responsible for developing and administering the City of
jeffersonville's Community Development Block Grant Program, is preparing
a modified application under the State's Community Improvement Program
for Community Development Block Grant funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL FOR THE CITY
OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA:
1. That the City of jeffersonville Department of Redevelopment
is authorized to file a request for modification of Community
Improvement Program Grant No. C-85-013 with the State of
Indiana, Department of Commerce, including all understandings
and assurances, if any, to be contained within said application
for grant modification.
2. That May~r Dale L. Orem, as the Chief Executive Officer, is
designated as the authorized representative of the applicant
to act in connection with the application for grant modifica-
tion and to provide any additional information that may be
required.
That the Common Council for the City of jeffersonville,
Indiana, agrees to abide by any assurances as required under
the State's Program.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk-Treasurer of said City of
jeffersonville, Indiana, is hereby ordered and directed to give notice
as provided by law. /~

C-85-013
sTATEMENT OF CHANGE
PRIVATE INVESTOR COMMITMENT
The original application for Community Improvement Project No.
C-85-013 contained a letter from Benson, Inc., relative to private
investor commitment. On January 16, 1988, the City of jeffersonville
submitted Modification No. 1, which designated Schneider Twenty-Six,
Inc., as the private investor for Project C-85-013. This modifica-
tion request was approved by DOC. Because of problems with
Schneider Twenty-Six, Inc., the City has taken actions to secure
alternative private investment in the Project Area by requesting
bids for the Operation of a restaurant. On October 13, 1988, the
Redevelopment'Commission of the City pf jeffersonville accepted
Clinard Enterprises d/b/a Charlie's as the bidder for the lease
to operate a restaurant within the Project Area. In view of this,
the City of jeffersonville hereby amends the application for
Project No. C]85-013 to designate Clinard Enterprises as the
private investor.
