Clarksville, Indiana, to Annex Territory Within Three (3)
Miles of the Corporate Boundaries of the City of
jeffersonville, Indiana.
WHEREAS, the Town of Clarksville, Indiana, has
presented its petition for consent of annexation of
territory contiguouS to the boundaries of Clarksville,
Indiana, which territory is designated by ,,Exhibit A"
attached to the Town's petition; and
WHEREAS, I. C. 36-4-3-9 requires that a town must
obtain the consent of the legislative body of a second or
third cZass city before annexing territory with three (3)
miles of the corporate boundaries of the city; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Clarksville, Indiana, is
proceeding with responsible planning and conforming to
the requirements of state law, is working on a fiscal
plan and definite policy for providing services to the
proposed areas to be annexed.
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved by the Common
Council of the City of jeffersonville, Clark County,
Indiana that:

DESCRIPTION OF ANNEXATION, NORTH PART
Beginning at the Northeasternmost corner of the Town of Ctarksville,
Clark County, Indiana, same being the West Right-of-Way line of State Road
31 and the low water mark of Silver Creek on the Southeasterly side of the
stream; Thence Southwestwardty do~mstream with the low water mark of Silver
Creek and along said Town Boundary, 1.6 miles, more or less, to the line di-
viding Surveys ~7 and #65 of the Illinois Grant co Clark County, Indiana;
Thence Northeastwardly along said dividing line, same being the Clark & Floyd
County line to the East corner of said Survey #65; Thence Northwestwardly
along sai~ County line, 2.7 miles, more or less. to the West corner of Survey
#108 of said Illinois Grant; Thence Northeastwardly along the line dividing
said Survey #108 and Survey #109 in poindexter lane, 1 mile, more or less, to
the Western Right-of-Way line of State Road #60; Thence $outheastwardly along
said Western Right-of-Way line 0.75 miles, more or less, co the Sellersburg
Town boundary in State Road 311; Thence in a counter clockwise direction along
said town boundary co the Western Right-of-Way line of said State Road #60;
Thence Southeastward!y along said Western Right-of-Way line, 1 mile, more or

Beginning ac a point in the centerline of Silver Creek on the line dividing
Floyd & Clark Counties, in the State of Indiana at the Northwest corner of the
Town boundary of Clarksville, said point being 900 feet, more or less, West of

Thence in a generally Southern direction along the Western side of said

PETITION REQUESTING CONSENT TO ANNEX TERRITORY
WHEREAS the Town Board of Trustees for the Town of
Clarksville, Indiana, has by Resolution 88R-07, authorized
the Town Board to Petition the City of Jeffersonville,
Indiana, for its consent to annex territory contiguous to
the Town of Clarksville, Indiana, and;
WHEREAS the territory to be annexed is within three
(3) miles of the corporate boundaries of the City of
Jeffersonville, Indiana;
The Board of Trustees for the Town of Clarksville,
Indiana, does hereby petition the Common Council for the
City of Jeffersonville, Indiana, to grant its con~ent for
the Town of Clarksville, Indiana, to annex territory which
is defined by "Exhibit A", which is attached hereto, and
made a part of this petition.
