A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE EFFORTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
OF A DISTINGUISHED CITIZEN OF THE CITY
the Common Council of the City of jeffersonville
pride in the civic achievements and awards of its
WHEREAS, John C. Wilcoxson has devoted many years of
service to Parks and Youth activities and programs in the City
of jeffersonville; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Natural Resources of the State
of Indiana has informed the Common Council of the City of
Jeffersonville through the Parks Department that John C.
Wilcoxson has earned distinction as the recipient of its TAKE
PRIDE IN AMERICA award; and
WHEREAS, John C. Wilcoxson is further under consideration
by the United States Department of Interior for the national
TAKE PRIDE IN AMERICA program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by unanimous proclamation
of the Common Council of the City of jeffersonville that John
C. wilcoxson is hereby commended for his meritorious
achievement and years of civic service, and that he is hereby
awarded the TAKE PRIDE IN AMERICA award on behalf of the State
of Indiana. In addition, the Council offers its most sincere
support and endorsement for Mr. Wilcoxson's consideration for a
national award. Furthermore, for and in consideration of his
achievements, John C. Wilcoxson shall henceforth retain the
rank as ADMIRAL OF THE NAVY OF THE PORT OF JEFFERSONVILLE.
So resolved this 7th day of March, 1988.
