RESOLUTION REGULATING HORSE-D~AWN VEHICLES
IN THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE
WHEREAS,

WHEREAS, political subdivisions in the State of Indiana
are entitled to regulate the services offered by persons who
hold out for public hire the use of vehicles.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, that it would encourage the
Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of
jeffersonville to enter into a one (1) year franchise
agreement with a single private entity for the provision of
horse-dr'awn transportation services upon the terms and
conditions that it would see fit in order to preserve the
public health, welfare, and safety. At the expiration of
the one (1) year trial term consideration should be given as
to the feasibility and desirability of continuing such
service arrangements, including the possibility of
competitive bidding or permitting of other firms and persons
to perform similar services within the area.
