HomeMy WebLinkAbout1989-R-32RESOLUTION NO. 89-R-~" RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE CLARK MARITIME CENTER AS AN ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION AREA WITHIN THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA further certain Economic the WHEREAS, it has been requested that certain areas within the City of jeffersonville be designated as Economic Revitalization Areas pursuant to I.C. 6-1.1-12.1 et seq.; and WHEREAS, the common Council of the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana, recognizes the need to stimulate industrial growth in order to maintain and develop a sound economy within the City of Jeffersonville; and WHEREAS, certain areas of the City are undesirable for, and/or impossible of, normal development and occupancy because of a lack of development, cessation of growth, deterioration of improvements or character of occupancy, age, obsolescence, substandard buildings or other factors which may have impaired- values or prevented a normal development of property of use of property; and WHEREAS, the Common Council for the City of Jeffersonville further recognizes that facilitating development in these under-utilized areas would be in the City's best interest; and WHEREAS, the Common Council for the City of Jeffersonville recognizes that it would be beneficial to designate areas within the City that presently qualify as Revitalization Areas for purposes of deduction against the City is vested with areas of the City to be assessed value of property; and WHEREAS, the Common Council for the authority to designate certain Economic Revitalization Areas. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana, that the following described area be declared and designated as an Economic Revitalization Area: The following is a boundary description of the Clark Maritime Centre located in the City of Jefferson'~ille, County of Clark~ in the State of Indiana. This Maritime Port Commission which is Clark county, Indiana. common council of the area is commonly known as that portion of the Clark Center operated under the authority of the Indiana located in the City of jeffersonvitle, This area is hereby designated by the city of jeffersonville as an Economic Revitalization Area.
