A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING CERTAIN DEVELOPMENT AREAS AS
"ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION AREAS" WITHIN THE CITY OF
JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
WHEREAS, it has been requested that certain areas within
the City of jeffersonville be designated as economic
revitalization areas pursuant to I. C. 6-1.1-12.1 thru I.C.
6-1.12.1-7; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council the City of Jeffersonville,
Indiana, recognizes the need to stimulate growth and to maintain
a sound economy within the City of Jeffersonville; and,
WHEREAS, certain areas of ~he city are undesirable
for, and/or impossible of, normal development and occupancy
because of a lack of development, cessation of growth,
deterioration of improvements or character of occupancy, age,
obsolescence, substandard buildings or other factors which have
impaired values or prevented a normal development of property or
use of property; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council for the City of Jeffersonville
further recognizes that incentives to locate development in these
un-utilized or by-passed areas would be in the City's best
interest; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council for the City of Jeffersonville
further recognizes that it would be beneficial to designate
certain areas within the City that presently qualify aS economic
revitalization areas, for purposes of a deduction against the
assessed value of property; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council for the City is vested with the
authority to designate certain areas of the city to be economic
revitalization areas;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Commom Council for
the City of jeffersonville, Indiana, that:
The following area be declared and designated as an
economic revitalization area:
Ail of Blocks Sixty-one (61) and Sixty-two
(62) and all of the Twenty foot (20') wide
alleys in both blocks in the City of
jeffersonville, clark county, Indiana,
including Indiana Avenue 6th to 7th Street.
This area is hereby designated as an "Economic
Revitalization Area".
