Signatory Authorization Resolution
WHEREAS, the Indiana General Assembly and the Federal
Water Pollution Control Act provide financial aid for the
construction of sewage treatment works; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana, herein
called the Municipality, has plans for a municipal water
pollution control project generally described as upgrading the
existing wastewater facility to meet State and Federal regula-
tions, such as the NPDES discharge limitations, and the
Municipality intends to proceed with the construction of such
works, and, ~'~:
WHEREAS, the City of Jeffersonville, has adopted this
Resolution dated July 5, 1989:
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the
City of Jeffersonville, as the governing legislative body of
said Municipality as follows:
1. That the Mayor of the City of Jeffersonville, Dale L.
Orem, or his successor, and/or the City Engineer of
f,City of JeffersonVille, J. Bruce Scales, or his
~ successor~ shall be authorized to ma~e applications
· for state and federal grants to provide the Depart-
ment of Environmental Management, such information,
data and documents pertaining to the application for
the grants as may be required, and otherwise act as
the authorized representatives of the Municipality in
connection with said application.
That the Municipality agrees that if a Federal grant
and State assistance are provided for the project
pursuant to Section 8 of the Federal Water Pollution
Control Act, as amended (33 U.S.C. 446 et seq.), and
the Indiana General Assembly, the City of Jefferson-
ville, Indiana, will pay the remaining costs of the
approved construction.
That all statements, data, and supporting documents
made or submitted by the Municipality in connection
with any application for Federal assistance for the
proposed construction are to be deemed a part of the
application for State assistance.
4. That the Municipality agrees to comply with the re-
quirements of the Department of Environmental
Management.
5. That two Certified copies of the Resolution be pre-
pared to accompany the applications for State and
Federal grants for the construction of the municipal
water pollution control project.
SO ADOPTED AND RESOLVED this 5th day of July, 1989.
