A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING CERTAIN AREAS WITH THE CITY OF
JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA, AS "ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION AREAs'~
WHEREAS, it has been requested that certain areas within
the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana, be designated as an
economic revitalization area pursuant to I.C. 6-1.1-12.1
et seq.; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of jeffersonville,
recognizes the need to stimulate growth and to
a sound economy within the City of jeffersonville;
Indiana,
maintain
and,
WHEREAS,
or impossible
certain areas Of the City are undesirable for,
of, normal development and occupancy because of a
lack of development, cessation of growth, deterioration of
improvements or character of occupancy, age, obsolescence,
substandard buildings or other factors which have impaired
values or prevented a normal development of property or use of
property; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonvilte
further recognizes that incentives to locate development in
these under-utilized areas would be in the City' s best
interest; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville
further recognizes that it would be beneficial to designate
certain areas within the City that presently qualify as
economic revitalization areas for the ultimate purpose of
granting deductions against the assessed value of property for
real property taxation purposes; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City is vested with the
authority to designate certain areas of the City to be economic
revitalization areas;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of
the City of jeffersonville, Indiana, that:
The following area be declared and designated as an
economic revitalization area:
The area in the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana, bounded
by Court Avenue on the north, the Clark Memorial
Pursuant to
hereby designated
Bridge/U.S. Highway 31 on the west, the City of
jeffersonville/State of Indiana boundary line on the
south, and Interstate 65 on the east. This area is more
specifically described in the legal description and plat
which are attached hereto as Exhibits "A" and "B",
respectively, and are incorporated herein.
