PRESENT(VIRTUAL): CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Mike Moore called the meeting to order at 9:31 a.m. in the Mayor's Conference Room in City Hall. The meeting was held in person and streamed on the City's Website. Andy Crouch and JFD Chief Shawn Grant served on the board. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Chief Grant made the motion to approve the minutes from April 3, 2024. Mr. Crouch seconded the motion; motion passed, 3-0. APPROVAL OF PAYROLL: Mr. Crouch made the motion to approve the payroll. Chief Grant seconded the motion; motion passed, 3-0. OLD BUSINESS: 1. Scott McVoy-Awarding of bids for purchase of a new K9 vehicle for the Police Department and a new Dodge Durango (taken under advisement at the April 3, 2024 meeting)— Mr. Merkley advised quotes were opened in reference to a new K9 Vehicle and a Dodge Durango. Quotes were received from John Jones and Bachman; Madison Chrysler-Dodge was non responsive. John Jones was the lowest bid for the 2023 Dodge Durango in the amount of$43,095. John Jones was also the lowest bid for the K9 Vehicle, a 2023 Dodge Charger in the amount of $36,011. Mr. Crouch made a motion to accept the quotes from John Jones as they were the lowest quotes; Chief Grant seconded the motion; motion passed, 3-0. NEW BUSINESS: 1. Len Ashack-Request for approval of road closure on Meigs Avenue at the intersection of Meigs and Maple to 329 Meigs for sewer line repair—Mr. Ashack stated this closure was to repair and replace sewers and they would be closed April 16 through April 17. Mr. Crouch made a motion to approve the road closure and Chief Grant seconded the motion; motion passed, 3-0. 2. Kat Wang-Request for approval of Memorandum of Agreement between City of Jeff Public Art and Fund for the Arts for Cultural Pass Program 2024—Mrs. Wang advised this agreement was for the Cultural Pass Program this summer. Mayor Moore said he would like to make sure ProMedia is aware of this so it can be advertised. Mr. Crouch made a motion to approve the contract and Chief Grant seconded the motion; motion passed, 3-0. ATTORNEYS REPORT: Mr. Merkley stated he had nothing for the attorneys report.
