WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville
has previously adopted Resolution No. 90-R-11 at its regular
meeting on March 19, 1990, wherein it designated the property
more specifically described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto as
an Economic Revitalization Area under the provisions of I.C.
and
resolution has been filed in the office of
Clark County Assessor and notice of this resolution has
published in accordance with Indiana Code 5-3-1 setting
that a public hearing on this matter shall be set for
21, 1990, at the Common Council regular meeting prior to
action modifying, confirming, or rescinding the
declaratory resolution of the Council; and
WHEREAS, said public hearing was held this date at the
Common Council's regular meeting and all persons and
remonstrators who believe that they were aggrieved by the
designating action of the Common Council were given an
opportunity to be heard in conformity with governing Indiana
law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of
the City of Jeffersonville as follows:
1. That it hereby confirms the designation of the area
mo~e specifically described in Exhibit "A" attached
hereto and previously

pertaining thereto being available under governing
Indiana law. The Common Council will hereafter
entertain all petitions and Statement of Benefits
seeking application for real and personal property
tax deductions properly allowable under existing
Indiana law, except as in conditioned in paragraph 2
below.
The Common Council recognizes, however, that the area
designated herein as an Economic Revitalization Area
is also located in an allocation area as defined in
I.C. 36-7-14-39, and no application for property tax
deductions, as provided by I.C. 6-1.1-12.1 et seq.,
may be approved unless the jeffersonville
Redevelopment Commission, as the commission which
designated the allocation area, adopts a resolution
approving the application.

further recognizes that it would be beneficial to designate

economic development target areas, for purposes of a deduction
against the assessed value of real property and manufacturing

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for the
City of Jeffersonville, Indiana, that:
The following area be declared and designated as an
economic development target area:
An area bounded by Plank Road on the south, the west fence
line of Cedarview Subdivision on the east, Conrail/CSX
Railroad right-of-way on the north, and the eastern fence
line of the Census Bureau on the west. This area is
further identified by the map which is attached hereto as
Exhibit A.
This area is hereby designated as an "Economic Development
Target Area", and henceforth qualifies for the rights and
benefits bestowed under Indiana law by virtue of such
designation.
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its
timely passage, promulgation and approval by the Mayor.
