A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING CERTAIN AREAS WITH THE CITY OF
JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA, AS "ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION AREAS'~
WHEREAS, it has been requested that certain areas with the
City of Jeffersonville, Indiana, be designated as economic
revitalization area pursuant to I.C. 6-1.1-12.1 through
I.C. 6-1.12.1-7; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of
recognizes the need to stimulate
Indiana,
maintain
and,
a sound economy within the
Jeffersonville,
growth and to
City of Jeffersonville;
further recognizes
certain qualified
revitalization areas
against the assessed
purposes; and,
that it would be beneficial to designate
areas within the City as economic
for purposes of considering deductions
value of property for real property tax
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City is vested with the
authority to designate certain areas of the city to be economic
revitalization areas;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of
the City of jeffersonville, Indiana, that:
The following area be declared and designated as an
economic revitalization area:
An area bounded by Plank Road on the south, the west fence
line of Cedarview Subdivision on the east, Conrail/CSX
Railroad right-of-way on the north, and the eastern fence
line of the Census Bureau on the west. This area is
WHEREAS, certain areas of the City are undesirable for,
and/or impossible of, normal development and occupancy because
of a lack of development, cessation of growth, deterioration of
improvements or character of occupancy, age, obsolescence,
substandard buildings or other factors which have impaired
values or prevented a normal development of property or use of
property; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville
that incentives to local development in these under-utilized or
distressed areas would be in the City's best interest; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville
