HomeMy WebLinkAbout1990-R-09 RESOLUTION NO. 90-R- --[ RESOLUTION APPROVING APPROPRIATION OF 1990 CUMULATIVE CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT FUND MONIES AMONG CITY DEPARTMENTS has Fund which and, WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville previously established a Cumulative Capital Development for purposes of refurbishing the City's equipment stock, fund carries a tax rate of twelve cents ($.12) for 1990; WHEREAS, it is fiscally prudent to determine for purposes of advance planning how the total levy raised within the Cumulative Capital Development Fund shall be spent among the various City departments in 1990[ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville as follows: 1. That one-third (or a $.04 tax rate) of the total levy within the Cumulative Capital Development Fund should be dedicated Department in 1990. That one-third for use by the Jeffersonville Police upgrading its motor vehicle stock in (or a $.04 tax rate) of the total levy raised in the Cumulative Capital Development Fund in 1990 should be dedicated for use by the Jeffersonville Fire Department for its use in paying existing obligations for equipment purchases, or to make other necessary equipment purchases in 1990. That the remaining one-third (or a $.04 tax rate) of the total levy raised in the Cumulative Capital Development Fund in 1990 should be dedicated to use by all other City departments, and department heads requesting the dispersal of these funds in 1990 for their department's requests J.n writing earliest convenience benefit should submit such to the Common Council at their for consideration on a first-come first-serve basis. That in the event that a balance shall remain after September 1, 1990, of any funds dedicated for use to specific departments herein, the Common Council may approve additional equipment purchases for any City department as long as the 1990 financial obligation incurred does not exceed the remaining fund balance, and so long as the financial obligation incurred does not exceed anticipated remaining balances in the fund in subsequent years after taking into account all contractual obligations anticipation of having funds raised through Development Fund levy.
