A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING CERTAIN AREAS WITH THE CITY OF
JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA, AS "ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION AREAS"
WHEREAS, it has been requested that certain areas within
the City of jeffersonville, Indiana, be designated as an
economic revitalization area pursuant to I.C. 6-1.1-12.1
et seq.; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council of
Indiana, recognizes the need to
maintain a sound economy
and,
the City of jeffersonville,
stimulate growth and to
within the City of jeffersonville;
WHEREAS, certain areas of the City are undesirable for,
or impossible of, normal development and occupancy because of a
lack of development, cessation of growth, deterioration of
improvements or character of occupancy, age, obsolescence,
substandard buildings or other factors which have impaired
values or prevented a normal development of property or use of
property; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of jeffersonville
further recognizes that incentives
these under-utilized areas would
interest; and,
to locate development in

WHEREAS,

recognizes that it would be beneficial to designate
areas within the City that presently qualify as
revitalization areas for the ultimate purpose of
deductions against the assessed value of property for
real property taxation purposes; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City is vested with the
authority to designate certain areas of the City to be economic
revitalization areas;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of
the City of jeffersonville, Indiana, that the area described in
"Exhibit A" attached hereto is declared and designated an
/~conomic revitalization area.
Pursuant to the provisions of
