RESOLUTION DECLARING COMMON COUNCIL SUPPORT FOR CERTAIN
RECYCLING ACTIVITIES IN THE CITY-COUNTY BUILDING
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of jeffersonville,
Indiana, believes that it is important to continue to raise
public awareness regarding environmental issues which are
facing all American cities; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council further believes, that it
should endeavor to provide additional recycling opportunities
where physically possible and economically feasible.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of
the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana, as follows:
1. The Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville,
Indiana, hereby declares its support for a program
which would establish a voluntary recycling program
within the jeffersonville-Clark County municipal
building.

Pursuant to the terms of this program
receptacles would be placed on the fourth
of the City-County Building at City offices to
all white bond paper, specifically including
bond computer paper, and aluminum cans. The
Common Council would hereby select Rumpke of Indiana,
Inc., as the company which shall be responsible for
placing said receptacles in the City-County Building
and removing and replacing those receptacles as the
need dictates. In addition, Rumpke shall pay an
amount to be negotiated from the proceeds of the
resold recyclables collected in this program, at the
Council's direction equally to the Center for Lay
Ministries and the Community Kitchen. Rumpke shall
provide an accounting to the City at least annually
of all proceeds so donated.
That in addition to the efforts described above, the
Common Council hereby further resolves to approach
the jeffersonville-Clark County Building Authority to
request permission to place similar receptacles on
the first
municipal

same terms and conditions as set forth in
paragraph 1 above.
Passed and adopted this 4th day of February, 1991, by the
Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville,
Clark COunty, Indiana.
