EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT
Comes now the Jeffersonville Sanitary Board (hereinafter called `Board") and
comes now Leslie D. Merkley (hereinafter called "Attorney"), and agree as follows:
1. That pursuant to I.C. 36-9-23-9 Attorney shall be employed as attorney for
the Board, effective July 1, 2023.
2. That Attorney shall be compensated the sum of $55,000.00 annually,
which shall be paid in equal monthly payments.
3. That Attorney's duties and responsibilities shall be to attend Board
meetings, advice and represent the Board and the Wastewater Department in all legal
matters and any other legal matters as assigned by the Board and/or the Utility Director,
with the exception of litigation. Representation in pending or future litigation matters
shall be the subject of a separate agreement or shall be handled by another Attorney
selected by the Board.
4. That this contract shall terminate at the will of either party upon written
notice.
