RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF OPERATION DESERT STORM
WHEREAS, the common Council of the City of jeffersonville,
Indiana, is fully aware of the extensive diplomatic efforts
which the U.S. State Department and the United Nations have
made in attempting to resolve the pending crisis in the Persian
Gulf area over the past several months; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of jeffersonville,
Indiana, believes that the United States of America is pursuing
a proper and just policy by not appeasing the dictator of Iraq;
and,
WHEREAS,
Indiana, believes that the United States
properly taken a leadership position in
coalition against this naked aggression.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of
the City of jeffersonville, Indiana, that it hereby endorses
and supports the decision to implement and undertake Operation
Desert Storm. The Common Council of the City of
jeffersonville, Indiana, particularly commends the courage and
leadership demonstrated by President George Bush, Secretary of
State James Baker, Secretary of Defense Dick Cheney, Joint
chiefs of Staff Chairman General Colin Powell, Congressman
Steven Solarz and Bob Michel, and Senate Minority Leader Robert
Dole. Our thoughts, prayers, and united support are behind the
m~ and women of Operation Desert Storm.
Unanimously passed and adopted this 16th day of January,
1991, by the Common Council of the City of jeffersonville,
Clark County, Indiana.
