HomeMy WebLinkAbout1992-R-24RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE,
INDIANA, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF THE CFF APPLICATION TO THE
INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE AND ADDRESSING RELATED MATTERS.
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of jeffersonville,
Indiana, recognizes the need to stimulate growth and to maintain a
sound economy within its corporate limits; and
WHEREAS, the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as
amended, authorizes the Indiana Department of Commerce to provide
grants to local'units of government to meet the housing and community
development needs of low and moderate income persons; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana has conducted or
will conduct public hearings prior to the submission of an
application to the Indiana Department of Commerce, said public
hearings to assess the housing, public facilities and economic needs
of its low and moderate income residents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City
of Jeffersonville, Indiana, that:
1. The Mayor is authorized to prepare and submit an
application for grant funding to address conditions relating to
public site improvements in the Falls Landing Development Project
Area in the City of jeffersonville, Indiana, to execute and
administer a resultant grant including requisite general
administration and project management, contracts and agreements
pursuant to regulations of the Indiana Department of Co~nerce and the
United States Department of Housing and Urban Development.
2. That the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana, through its
Redevelopment Commission, hereby commits the requisite local funds in
the amount of Sixty Thousand Dollars ($60,000) from the Redevelopment
Commission as matching funds for said program, such commitment to be
contingent upon receipt of CFF funding from the Indiana Department of
Commerce.
Adopted by the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville,
Indiana, this 21st day of September, 1992 at the Regular Meeting of
the Council.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk-Treasurer of said City of
Resolution No. 92-R-_~-Y~-

jeffersonville, Indiana, is hereby ordered and directed to give
notice as provided by law.

Indiana, this 21st day of September, 1992.
