Signatory Authorization Resolution For
Purposes Of Seeking Grant Funding For The
City Of Jeffersonville Wastewater Treatment Plant
WHEREAS, Indiana General Assembly
Pollution Control Act provide financial aid
sewage treatment works; and
and the Federal Water
for the construction of
WHEREAS, the City of Jeffersenville~ Indiana; herein called
the Municipa!ity~ has plans for a municipal water pollutien control
project generally described as upgrading the existing wastewater
facility to meet State and Federal regulations, such as the NPDES
discharge limitations~ and the Municipality intends to proceed with
the construction of such works:
WHEREAS~ the City of Jeffersonvitle, tndiana~ has adopted
this Resolution dated January 6, 199~
NOW, THEREFORE~ BE tT RESOLVED by the City Council~ the
governing body of said Municipality as follows:
1. That Mayor Raymond J. Parker Jr., or his successor, and
William J. Gavin, City Engineer~ or his successor~ or Andrew Williams
IIi, City Council President, or his successor, be authorized to make
applications for State and Federal grants and provide the Department
of Environmental Management such information, data and documentm
pertaining to the application for the grants as may be required~ and
otherwise act as the authorized representative of the Municipality in
connection with said application.
~. That the Municipality agrees that if a Federal grant and
State assistance are provided for the pro~ect pursuant to Section 8 of
the Federal Water Pollution Control Act~ as amended (33 U.S~C. 446 et
seq.), and the Indiana General Assembly, the City of Jeffersonville,
Indiana, will pay the remaining costs of the approved construction.
3. That all statements data and supporting documents made
or submitted by the Municipality in connection with any application
for federal assistance for the proposed construction are to be deemed
a part of the application for State aesistance~
4. That the Municipality agrees to comply with the
requirements of the Department of Environmental Management.
5. That two certified copies of the resoIution be prepared
to accompany the applications for State and Federal grants for the
construction of the municipal water pollution control pro~ect.
Passed and adopted the 6th day of January~ 199~, by the
Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville~ Clark County, Indiana.
