Regular Meeting Minutes
The Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana met for the Regular Meeting on January 3,
2023. Council President Owen along with City Clerk Gill called the meeting to order at 7:00p.m.The
- meeting was open to the public in person as well as live streamed via the City Website using Zoom.
INVOCATION:
Council President Owen led the Invocation.
Pledge of Allegiance:
ROLL CALL:
The roll call was conducted by City Clerk Lisa Gill and present in Council Chambers were Councilperson
_ : White,Councilperson Burns,Councilperson Paris,Councilperson Croft,Councilperson Webb,
Councilperson Hawkins,and Council President Owen. Let the record reflect that 7 Council Members
were present in Council Chambers.Councilperson Ellis was absent. Council President Owen advised that
there would be a caucus held on January 9,2023 to fill the Councilperson for District 4.
APROVAL OF MINUTES:
Councilperson Burns made a motion to approve the Minutes of December 19,2022 of the Regular
Meeting,seconded by Councilperson Paris; motion-passed,7-0. ,
APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA: -
Councilperson Burns made a motion to approve the agenda,seconded by Councilperson Hawkins;
motion passed,7-0.
CLAIMS TO APPROVE:
Civil City$1,436,658.50, J
Council President Owen advised there were 2 changes.
Mrs. Metcalf advised there were 2 deletions. The first one,on page 1 in the amount of$2,090.00;the
second one on page 9 in the amount of$982.75 bringing the Civil City Claims total to$1,433,585.75.
Councilperson Burns made a motion to approve Civil City Claims,seconded by Councilperson Croft;
motion passed,7-0.
Parks$141,905.33
Mrs. Metcalf advised there were no changes.
Councilperson Burns made-a motion to approve Parks Claims,seconded by Councilperson Paris; motion
passed,7-0.
REPORT OF THE CLERK:
City Clerk Gill asked all Nepotism Letters for Local and State be signed and returned to her after tonight's
meeting.
City Clerk Gill advised that the next Council Meeting will be held on Tuesday,January 17,2023 due to •
the holiday on Monday,January 16, 2023.City Clerk Gill advised she will have the appointments on the
next meeting and asked Council President Owen if he wanted the Election of Officers to be put on the
Agenda for next meeting. Council President Owen asked the Council if they wanted to wait until the
second meeting or appoint officers during this meeting.
Councilperson Burns made a motion to re-elect Matt Owen as City of Jeffersonville Council President,
seconded by Councilperson Hawkins; motion passed,7-0.
Councilperson Webb made a motion to appoint Councilperson Scott Hawkins as the City of Jeffersonville
Council Vice President,seconded by Councilperson Croft; motion passed,7-0.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

NEW BUSINESS:
1. Drainage Board Appointments for Districts 1,3,5,6
Councilperson White reappointed Shane Calkin for District 1.
Councilperson Paris reappointed Greg Landers for District 3.
Councilperson Croft reappointed John Ketenbrink for District 5.
Councilperson Webb reappointed Adam Ross for District 6.
Councilperson Burns made a motion to approve the appointments for the Drainage Board,
seconded by Councilperson Hawkins; motion passed,7-0.
ATTORNEY COMMENT:
Larry Wilder—Mr.Wilder asked if he was being retained for 2023.
Councilperson Burns made a motion to retain Larry Wilder as the City of Jeffersonville City Council
Attorney,seconded by Councilpersons Hawkins and Councilperson Croft; motion passed,7-0.

• Councilperson Burns—Councilperson Burns asked where the caucus was being held and Council
President Owen advised it is being held in Council Chambers.

• Councilperson Webb—Congratulations to Council President Owen for 5 years as Council
President and to Councilperson Hawkins for being elected as Council Vice President.

Councilperson Hawkins made the motion to ADJOURN the meeting at 7:08 p.m.
