MINUTES
September 14,2022
PRESENT(IN PERSON): Mayor Mike Moore, Rob Waiz Redevelopment Director,Clark Miles Street Commissioner,

CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Moore called the meeting to order at 9:34 a.m. in the Mayor's Conference Room in City
Hall. The meeting was held in person and streamed on the City's Website.
APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Mr. Miles made the motion to approve the minutes from September 7,2022. Mr.
Waiz seconded the motion; motion passed,3-0.
APPROVAL OF PAYROLL: Mr.Waiz made the motion to approve payroll,seconded by Mr. Miles; motion passed,
3-0.
OLD BUSINESS:
1. Les Merkley-Request for approval of conveyance of real property from City of Jeffersonville to Greater
Clark County School Corporation(0.27 acre tract,part of Lot 14 of.Catherine M.Hopkins Subdivision)
2022-R-4—Mr. Merkley advised this was tabled from last week's meeting and is a transfer of property.
Last week there was discussion of an issue with the new property line and since then an agreement has
been reached with Greater Clark. Track 1 will straighten the property line up and track 2 was previously
owned by the School Corporation and now will be owned by the City. Mr. Merkley advised this is 2022-
R-4. Mr.Waiz made a motion to approve 2022-R-4, Mr. Miles seconded the motion; motion passed,3-0.
NEW BUSINESS:
1. Timothy Thompson with Pike Electric—Request for approval of road closure at 805 East Seventh
Street on Thursday,September 15,2022 from 7:00 am until 7:00 pm,with Friday,September 16,
2022 being secondary ate if work not completed on 9/15/2022 or inclement weather occurs—
Mrs. O'Neil advised that Mr. Crouch stated he was okay with this request. Mayor Moore confirmed.
with Chief Kavanaugh that JPD did not have an issue with this request.
Mr. Miles made the motion to approve the closure and Mr.Waiz seconded the motion; motion
passed, 3-0.
2. Derek Sperzel with Katherine Apartments—Approval of road closure Thursday September 15,
2022 until Saturday September 18,2022(street parking lane)—Mr.Sperzel advised he requesting
just the street parking lane be closed. Mayor Moore confirmed with Chief Kavanaugh that JPD is
okay with the closure. Mr.Sperzel advised residents will be able to park in the lot at the back of the
property.
Mr. Miles made a motion to approve the closure and Mr.Waiz seconded the motion; motion
passed, 3-0.
3. Request for road closure at 421 E. Market Street—Elton Youart with Dirt Works was present and
advised they are requesting closure to do a sewer tap in. This is being requested the week of

September 19th for a full week. Assistant Chief McVoy advised in the past they have done one half
of the road at a time so the whole street does not have to be shut down. Mr.Youart requested to
table the request for a week to discuss and check with Mr.Crouch on this matter.
Mr. Miles made a motion to table and Mr.Waiz seconded the motion; motion passed to table,3-0.
Mayor Moore recognized Alice Davis for her service to the City of Jeffersonville for the last 31
years. Mayor Moore presented Mrs.Davis with the Commodore of the Port Award and thanked
her for always coming to City Hall with a smile on her face and being one of the most beloved
people at City Hall.
