HomeMy WebLinkAboutJuly 5, 2022 Council Minutes JEFFERSONVILLE,INDIANA July 5,2022 Regular Meeting Minutes The Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana met for the Regular Meeting on July 5,2022. Council President Owen along with City Clerk Gill called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m.The meeting was open to the public in person as well as live streamed via the City Website using Zoom. INVOCATION: Council President Owen led the Invocation. ROLL CALL: The roll call was conducted by City Clerk Lisa Gill and present in Council Chambers were Councilperson White, Councilperson Burns, Council Vice President Maples,Councilperson Croft,Councilperson Webb, Councilperson Hawkins, Council President Owen. Councilperson Ellis and Councilperson Paris were absent.Councilperson Paris let President Owen know that he would not be in cell range and Councilperson Ellis let Clerk Gill know he had another commitment. Let the record reflect that 7 Council Members were present in Council Chambers. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Council Vice President Maples made a motion to approve the Minutes of June 21, 2022 of the Regular Meeting,seconded by Councilperson Croft; motion passed,7-0. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA: Council President Owen stated that Ms. Leavell would not be here tonight,therefor number 9 on the agenda will be tabled again. Council Vice President Maples made a motion to approve the agenda tabling number 9,seconded by Councilperson Burns; motion passed,7-0. CLAIMS TO APPROVE: - Civil City$3,372,431.06—Mrs. Metcalf stated there were no changes. Council Vice President Maples made a motion to pass the Civil City Claims, seconded by Councilperson Burns; motion passed,7-0. Parks$212,047.39-Mrs. Metcalf stated there were no changes. Council Vice President Maples made a motion to approve the Parks Claims,seconded by Councilperson Croft; motion passed,7-0. REPORT OF THE CLERK: Nothing this evening UNFINISHED BUSINESS: 1.Janice Leavell Dr.King Scholarship Program Tabled during approval of agenda during the July 5, 2022 meeting. • 2. Heather Metcalf(Public Hearing)2022-OR-37 Ordinance of Additional Appropriation This Ordinance passed on the First and Second Reading on June 21,2022. Ms. Metcalf stated there were no changes. Council President Owen opened the public hearing at 7:04 pm, no members of the community were present in Council Chambers for comment. Clerk Gill stated there were no comments sent to her office. Council President Owen closed the public hearing. Councilperson Hawkins made a motion to pass on the Third and final Reading, seconded by Councilperson Burn; motion passed,7-0. NEW BUSINESS 1. Heather Metcalf 2022-OR-38 Ordinance of Transfer of Funds within the Same Department This is for.the•Police Department to transfer funds from Supplies to Service in the amount of$5,000.00. Councilperson Burns made a motion to pass on the First and Second Reading,seconded by Vice President Maples; motion passed, 7-0. 2. Heather Metcalf 2022-OR-39 Petty Cash/Cash Change Ordinance Mrs. Metcalf advised this will make changes to the petty cash fund. The following changes are being requested: Wastewater Billing department moved$100.00 from Petty Cash to Cash Change due to a new Clerk starting soon. Parks Aquatic Center Cash Change increased from$800.00 to$1040.00 which will cover 2 Admission bags,2 Concession bags and 1 Cash Change bag. Fieldhouse Cash Change increased to$60.00. Removed all Petty Cash for Parks Departments-Aquatic Center, Fieldhouse and Main Office. Vice President Maples made a motion to pass on the First and Second Reading,seconded by. Councilperson Croft; motion passed, 7-0.
