HomeMy WebLinkAboutBPW June 15, 2022 CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS f• MINUTES June 15,2022 PRESENT: Andy Crouch, City Engineer, Rob Waiz, Redevelopment Director, Shawn Grant, Chief of Jeffersonville Fire Department,Jason Sharp,Asst Chief of Jeffersonville Fire Department, Kenny Kavanaugh, Chief of Jeffersonville Police Department, Clark Miles, Director of Sanitation, Kevin Morlan, Director of Street Department, Michael O'Brien, Director of Vehicle Maintenance,Chad Reischl, Director of Planning and Zoning, Larry Wallace, Building Commissioner, Matt Dyer, Director of IT, Brian Smith, Director of Safety, Kim Calabro, Director of Human Resources, Len Ashack, Director of Wastewater, Paul Northam, Director of Parks and Recreation, Emily Dippie, Director of Arts, Les Merkley, Corporate Counsel,Christy O'Neil, Executive Assistant to Mayor, Mayor Moore,Amy Huffman, Community Affairs Liason, Bill Dixon, Engineering Department, and Katie Sutter, Promedia group. CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Moore called the meeting to order at 9:33 a.m. in the Mayor's Conference Room in City Hall. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Mr. Crouch made themotion to approve the minutes from June 15, 2022. Mr.Waiz seconded the motion. Motion carries 3-0. APPROVAL OF PAYROLL: Mr.Waiz made the motion to approve payroll,seconded by Mr. Crouch. Motion carries 3-0. OLD BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: 1. Les Merkley—Request for approval of deed of dedication of public right-of-way transferring a parcel of real property from Coots Development Group, LLC to the City of Jeffersonville—This is just tidying up loose ends. This is for a piece of land that that at shopping center at Kerry Ann Way and Highway 62. Mr.Waiz makes motion to approve request,seconded..by Mr. Crouch, motion carries 3-0. 2. Les Merkley—Request for approval of deed of dedication of public right-of-way transferring a parcel of real property from KDC Development, LLC to the City of Jeffersonville. I was out there yesterday and we have a few issues on Herb Lewis Rd that need to be fixed prior to approving this request. I make a motion to table until issues are resolved,said Mr. Crouch, seconded by Mr.Waiz, motion carried 3-0. 3. Chad Reischl—Request for approval of contract between City of Jeffersonville and Taylor Siefker Williams Design Group, LLC for assistance with the preparation of the Jeffersonville Comprehensive Plan. This is for mapping and GIS analysis. Mr. Crouch made motion to approve contract,seconded by Mr.Waiz, motion carried 3-0. 4. Chad Reischl—Request for approval of contract between City of Jeffersonville and Yard Group, LLC for assistance with the website and branding of the Jeffersonville Comprehensive Plan. This is to build stand alone website. Motion to approve contract by Mr. Crouch,seconded by Mr.Waiz, motion carries'3-0. Page 1 of 2 ti 5. Kevin Morlan— Request for approval of"Children at Play"and "Speed Limit"signs around 5501 Shungate. I have went out and looked around this are, said Kevin Morlan, we have speed limit signs around this area but there is not Children at Play. Shungate is a long stretch of road so we could always put more there, said Kevin Morlan. I would like to see us put two more speed limit signs close to each end of road, and a couple Children at Play signs, close to resident, said Mayor Moore..I make that a motion, said Mr.Waiz,seconded by Mr. Crouch, motion carries 3-0. 6. Paul Northam—3 events went through events committee: July 16, 2022, 12:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. Body of Christ Summer Festival, held at Lansden Park. Bullies and Bikes, 115 W. Chestnut St.,July 16, 2022, 12:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m., sponsor is Union Game Yard, and Basketball Tourney, Lansden Park, and will just be using one court. Mr. Crouch makes motion to approve events,seconded by Mr.Waiz, motion carries 3-0. ADJOURNMENT: With no •ur - businesi r.
