ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A UNIFIED LINE ITEM FOR CITY OF
JEFFERSONVILLE LIABILITY AND WORKER'S COMPENSATION INSURANCE IN
THE BUDGET OF THE cOMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE

WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of jeffersonville
the entity responsible for formulating and adopting budgets
and operations of the City of
WHEREAS, the Common Council has previously operated under
a cumbersome policy of dividing up ~he respective shares of the
liability and worker's compensation insurance premiums between
the various departments of the City, necessitating numerous
transfers and making prudent budgeting otherwise more difficult
than necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of
the City of jeffersonville that it hereby establishes a fund in
the Common Council budget for the premiums for all liability
and worker's compensation insurance policies issued to the City
of jeffersonville as the named insured. Commencing with the
budget for fiscal year 1992 the Common Council shall
appropriate an amount sufficient to defray the anticipated cost
of funding the respective liability and worker's compensation
insurance policies purchased by the City for 1992 and for each
ensuing fiscal year. Henceforth, the premiums for said
policies shall not be broken down and divided among the various
departments of the City.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its
timely passage, promulgation and approval by the Mayor.
Passed and adopted by the Common Council of the City of
jeffersonville, Clark County, Indiana, on the 31st day of July,
