APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Mr. Crouch made the motion to approve the minutes from September 15, 2021. Mr.Waiz seconded the motion; motion passed 3-0. APPROVAL OF PAYROLL: Mr.Waiz made the motion to approve payroll,seconded by Mr. Crouch; motion passed 3-0. OLD BUSINESS: NEW BUSINESS: 1. Nate Newton, IN State Trooper-Request for approval for a Fallen Troop Memorial Sign honoring Lawrence Meyer to be placed on the northwest corner of East Court Avenue and Mechanic Street (ISP supplying the sign;Street Department to install sign)—Trooper Newton stated in 1974 Lawrence Meyer was chasing after two escaped inmates and suffered a fatal heart attack. This sign would honor him. Mr. Crouch has confirmed that this is City property. Mr. Crouch made a motion to approve the sign placement and Mr.Waiz seconded the motion; motion passed 3-0. 2. Kim Calabro-Request for approval of contract between Kantola and City of Jeffersonville for online sexual harassment training—Mrs. Calabro advised this is a one year contract and will provide 408 licenses for the annual sexual harassment prevention training for all employees and new hires. Mr.Waiz made a motion to approve the contract and Mr. Crouch seconded the motion; motion passed 3-0. 3. Emily Dippie—Request for approval of MOU with Retired Senior Volunteer Program and City of Jeffersonville for volunteer services— Mrs. Dippie stated this is an MOU that will allow us to have another set of volunteers at Public Art Events. The MOU outlines the manner in which the volunteers will be treated. Mayor Moore said he appreciates volunteers and it is always good to have another pool of volunteers for the City Events. Page 1 of 2 Mr. Crouch made a motion to approve the MOU and Mr. Waiz seconded the motion; motion passed 3-0. ADJOURNMENT: Mayor Moore said he received a phone call regarding there not being any speed limit signs on Pawnee Dr. He is requesting that they find a place going each direction for a speed limit sign and that locates are done so that the speed limit signs can be placed. Mayor Moore asked if the crews were out cleaning storm drains with the rain that we are getting and Mr. Crouch confirmed they are. Mayor Moore encouraged everyone to go out and check to make sure their storm drains are cleared and advised if a drain needs to be cleared you should not use your hands to clear it, use a shovel or another object to remove the debris. Mayor Moore reminded everyone watching this is the reason that grass clippings are not to be blown in the street because it will block the storm drains and then they are unable to keep up with the rain.
