Do I have anyone that would like to volunteer to be on jury?Asks Emily. John McCarthy, Denise Freville, Susan Harrison, and Sarah Young all volunteered. We can meet on zoom or in person, whichever you prefer,to vote. Since this is a bigger price tag project, I like having a jury to vote on, said Emily. Court Avenue Banners—We are helping City Pride to push out a call for artists. So nobody on JPAC will be on the jury for this?Asks Sarah. I don't know all details right now,but for now this will be strictly a City Pride project we are only helping with calling of artists. Story Trail—I have reached out to schools but have not received any submissions. John McCarthy said I reached out to Greater Clark Schools art teachers and she will be putting in newsletter and on website. The RFP will not close until 5/28. Sarah-What about a summer blast thing if we can extend timeline? Emily said we would have to change the entire format, but if we need to we can make it happen. Shakespeare in the Park Update—Emily Dippie Held on April 24 @ 7:00 p.m. at Big 4 Station. Was a very wet and nasty day. But at highest count we had 55 people. I was very excited with the weather and coming out of a pandemic. It was very well done like Kentucky Shakespeare does. We heard certain passages that were very well done. Voice of Culture Update—Emily Dippie I have not moved this forward but in June will have more serious conversation about it. New Business: NoCo Mural Mile Update—Emily Dippie Excellentpresence on social media. I did do a little paid advertisement on this which has paid off. We have 48 vendors wanting to be in this and at max can only have 75. Mlmarket Update—Emily Dippie We currently have 20 artist wanting to be vendors, and two confirmed food trucks. Jeffersonville Arts Alliance is going to do an auction of a nice piece of art. Maker's 13 is having a"Make &Take", Preston Art Center plans to do something. Also,we are getting good traction on social media. I am starting to put together some fliers and advertising. People seem to be really excited about this. We had a goal of 25 vendors with a max of 50 so we are well on our way to reaching and exceeding our goal. Emily says, I have put together a media kit for MlMarket if anyone would like to help promote this please feel free to do so. And the winner for the name is Denise Fraville. Creative Impact for August—Emily Dippie I have not locked down a teacher for upcoming classes. Need to be strong teachers—they will be leading the class by themselves. NoCO Logo Mural Request for proposal—Emily Dippie Commission an artist for open request for a mural that says NOCO. Will get more graffiti type artists or texts artists. If everyone is okay moving forward with this it will open up right after meeting and close in September. What was the cost. of flowers on other containers?Asks Bill. Emily states she is not sure. Do we need to approve budget tonight?Asks Sarah. I would hate to wait until June because this will be finished in September, stated Emily. So I am looking for an amount of stipend we are comfortable in paying for a project like this. Susan makes motion for a stipend up to $7,000.00 for creation of mural of NOCO logo on backside of shipping containers, seconded by Kofi, motion carried unanimously. Floodwall Mural Damage Discussion We had some graffiti damage on our mural of floodwall and the structure it's is cracked. I have reached out to Dawn on how to fix it. There was a large crack in floodwall itself and at bottom. Artists patches as best as she could but it looks as if there is water behind the mural. At this point V4 of mural has come off—so to repair and seal and repaint we would have to remove the mural and fix the wall and redo mural. Artist is Molly lives in California now. Do we want to fix this mural or go a different way on this. Molly is very open to help with this but if we go over it, it going to happen again. Does this decision peed to be made, today, asks Sarah. No not really, but is is going to get to where it looks bad and we need to do something, said Emily. Can we reach out to flood control and see what they think about this, asks John. Andy says, I would be happy to have a conversation with them. We have to fix this we will be looking at losing V2 if not more of this mural, says Emily. Do you need a motion today on what to do?Asks Sarah. Andy says,I would like to speak with Mike Lanham, with Flood Control, and maybe Core of Engineers and discuss this again at June meeting.
