Special Meeting
March 19,2020
The Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana met in a Special meeting in the Mayor's
conference room, 500 Quartermaster Court,Jeffersonville, Indiana at noon on March 19, 2020.
Council President Owen along with Deputy Clerk Hardaway called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL:
The roll call was conducted by Deputy Clerk Peggy Hardaway and those present were Councilperson
Dustin White, and Council President Owen. Those present via telephone conferencing were
Councilperson Bill Burns,Councilperson Joe Paris, Council Vice President Scottie Maples,Councilperson
Scott Hawkins and Councilperson Ron Ellis. Members available for this meeting 7. Councilperson
Donnie Croft and Councilperson Steve Webb absent. Also available on the conference call was Counsel
Les Merkley, Counsel Larry Wilder and Matt Dyer IT Director.
APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA:
Council President Owen indicated that the only agenda item would be Ordinance 2020-OR-21.
NEW BUSINESS:
1. Les Merkley—Ordinance 2020-OR-21 An Ordinance of the Common Council of the City of
Jeffersonville amending Ordinance 2020-OR-4(Salary) Counsel Merkley—presents this ordinance
that will allow employees to work remotely and receive pay if some of the City offices has to shut
down. Councilperson Maples made the motion to suspend the rules on anticipation of all three
reading being approved, seconded by Councilperson White.

Councilperson Paris—yes
Councilperson Maples—yes
Council President Owen—yes
Councilperson Hawkins—yes
Councilperson Ellis—yes
Motion passes unanimous 7-0
Councilperson Maples made the motion to approve the ordinance on all three readings, seconded
by Councilperson Burns.

Councilperson White made the motion to ADJOURN the meeting, seconded by Councilperson Maples at
12:08 p.m.
