BEFORE THE COMMON COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE
IN THE STATE OF INDIANA
A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA, RENEWING AND
EXTENDING THE TERM OF THE JEFFERSONVILLE URBAN ENTERPRISE ZONE
WHEREAS,the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana (the "Common
Council") has a continuing interest in the economic and community development of the City of
Jeffersonville, Indiana (the "City") and its residents; and,
WHEREAS,the Jeffersonville Urban Enterprise Zone (the "Enterprise Zone"), which is
governed by Indiana Code 5-28-15 (the "Act"), was established January 1, 2000 and has been
active in enhancing and promoting economic and community development within the
Enterprise Zone and the City; and,
WHEREAS,the designation term of the Enterprise Zone is scheduled to expire on
December 31, 2019; and,
WHEREAS, Indiana Code 5-28-15-10(f) of the Act authorizes the Common Council to
extend the current term of the Enterprise Zone for an additional five (5) years. The Enterprise
Zone may not be renewed after the expiration of this final five (5) year period; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire and intent of the City to extend the current term of the
Enterprise Zone to continue for an additional five (5) years until December 31, 2024; and,
WHEREAS,the Common Council is desirous of being fully advised as to the projects,
operations and financial condition of the Enterprise Zone. The Enterprise Zone's Executive
Director shall appear before the Common Council annually and provide a written report setting
out the financial condition, a list of projects, as well as potential projects of the Enterprise Zone;
and,
WHEREAS, after being fully advised in this matter,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF JEFFERSONVILLE, CLARK COUNTY, INDIANA,THAT:
Section 1. The Common Council finds that the Enterprise Zone facilitates and
promotes economic and community development in the City and for its residents hereby
reaffirms its support of the Enterprise Zone.
Section 2. The Common Council hereby renews and extends the current expiration
date of the Enterprise Zone from December 31, 2019, until December 31, 2024, pursuant to and
in accordance with Indiana Code 5-28-15-10(f) of the Act.

Section 3. The Enterprise Zone's Executive Director shall provide a written report to
the Common Council setting out the financial condition, a list of projects, as well as potential
projects of the Enterprise Zone. This is to be submitted for presentation during the first
meeting of July.
Section 4. The Clerk of the City is hereby directed to file an executed copy of this
Resolution with the Board of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, on or before
December 1, 2019, pursuant to the Act, and to file this Resolution with the permanent minutes
of this meeting.
Section 5. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
adoption.
