SANITARY SEWER BOARD
MINUTES OF AUGUST 15, 2019
The Sanitary Sewer Board of the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana met in regular
session on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at 3:00 P.M in the City Hall Mayor's Conference
Room. Mayor Moore called the meeting to order at 3:00 P.M. Board Members present
are Mike Moore, Bill Saegesser and Dale Orem. Also present are Utility Director Len
Ashack, Utility Billing Office Manager Elisha Gibson, Controller Heather Metcalf, Board
Attorney Mike Gillenwater, City Engineer Andy Crouch, Utility Communications &
Operations Coordinator Rick Lovan, Jorge Lanz and Josh Hillman representing Jacobi,
Toombs, and Lanz, John Herriford representing Strand, Melanie Radcliffe-Douglas
representing Commonwealth Engineers, Adam Dickey representing HMB Engineers, and
Secretary Barbara Hollis.
Board Member Orem made the motion to approve the agenda as presented,
second by Board Member Saegesser, passing on a vote of 3-0.
The minutes of the August 1, 2019 meeting were presented for approval. Board
Member Orem made the motion to approve the minutes with the correction on the first
page of the motion to approve the Adjustment Certificate, second by Board Member
Saegesser, passing on a vote of 3-0.
CONTROLLER'S REPORT
Controller Metcalf presented the claim list dated August 15, 2019 in the amount of
$804,364.08, with an addition of $1,800 for a new total of $806,164.08. Board Member
Saegesser, made the motion to approve the claim list as corrected, second by Board
Member Orem passing on a vote of 3-0.
Manager Gibson presented the Adjustment Certificate dated August 12, 2019 in
the amount of$-53,095.60 Sewage, $-1,348.48 Drainage, and a refund of$794.78, noting
most of the total represents liens. Board Member Orem made the motion to approve the
Certificate as presented, second by Board Member Saegesser, passing on a vote of 3-0.
OLD BUSINESS - No Old Business this meeting
NEW BUSINESS
Jorge Lanz presented and explained, Updated Professional Engineering Services
Agreement Between The Jeffersonville Sewer Board And Jacobi, Toombs and Lanz, Inc.
Board Member Saegesser made the motion to approve the Agreement as presented,
second by Board Member Orem, passing on a vote of 3-0.

situation will be resolved. Board Member Saegesser asked if a response has been
received from the DOJ contact, suggesting a timetable be sent. Board Attorney
Gillenwater will send the information.
BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS
Mayor Moore asked about the status of the irrigation installation at Victory Point.
Director Ashack explained the agreement and that it should be done by the end of
September. Mayor Moore then thanked the Board and Jorge Lanz for getting Utica Pike
paving done.
