JEFFERSONVILLE POLICE MERIT COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING
June 11, 2019
The Jeffersonville Police Merit Commission meeting was called to order on June 11, 2019 at 5:00
P.M. in the City Council Chambers, First Floor, 500 Quartermaster Court,Jeffersonville, Indiana.
President Jeremy Snelling called the meeting to order with the following in attendance: President
Jeremy Snelling, Vice-President Robert Campbell, Scott Aldridge, Buddy Parker and Patty Rush. Absent
were Bonnie Deppert and Attorney Robert Bottorff.
Invocation was given by Vice-President Campbell.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
President Snelling presented the minutes from May 14, 2019 meeting, asking if there were any
additions or corrections. Mr. Parker made a motion to approve the minutes as presented and seconded
by Mr. Aldridge. Voted 4-0
OLD BUSINESS: None
NEW BUSINESS:
Chief Kavanaugh and Assistant Chief McVoy requested the Commissions to approve the
following Promotions of Rank for the following Officers. Mr. Parker made a motion to approve the list
for Promotions and seconded by Mr. Aldridge. Congratulations to all the Officers regarding their
Promotions. Voted 4-0
Chris Grimm promoted to Captain which was effective on May 1, 2019
Ron Todd promoted to Lieutenant which was effective on April 17, 2019
Isaac Parker promoted to Lieutenant which was effective on April 16, 2019
Greg Sumler promoted to Lieutenant which was effective on May 1, 2019
Drew Lydon promoted to Corporal which was effective on May 1, 2019
Congratulations to all the Officers on their Promotions of Rank given by all the Commission.
Assistant Chief advised the Commission that the physicals were given to 118 new applicants
with results of 60 moved on to the next test, 33 didn't show up and 25 applicants failed. Regarding
written exam there were 5 no shows, 55 took the test and 28 are to be interviewed.
It was advised that IPSP will consult with the Commission regard questions for the interviews
scheduled for June 18, 19 and 20`h. There were no military applicants within these applicants.
CLAIMS:
President Snelling presented a claim from St. Vincent Public Safety Medical in the amount of
$1,303.72 for Brydon Kaiser. Mr. Campbell made a motion to approve the claim in the amount of
$1,303.72 and seconded by Mr. Aldridge. Voted 4-0
